Media Literacy

Who we follow online may influence what we believe when viewing media. Celebrities we like might say things that aren’t necessarily true. In this activity, students will make a list of celebrities and play a ‘Guess Who’ game to see if they can guess the celebrity based on their online quote.

Activity

1. Brainstorm the list of celebrities you follow online. Is this figure controversial? Are they vocal about their displeasure with a person, group, or topic? Have you agreed or disagreed with something they said in the past? 
2. Write down a list of quotes the celebrities said in the past. 
3. Play ‘Guess Who.’ See if your friends and family members can guess who it is based on the quote. 
4. Record a video of you and your group playing the game.
