What We Do
Youth Speak Out International (YSO INT) delivers high-quality programming to children and youth in afterschool and summer programs throughout South Florida. Our trained facilitators visit hundreds of out-of-school time (OST) programs each week, providing six to eight weeks of enhanced learning for each program.
During these visits, facilitators guide youth through activities and experiences that build their media literacy, media production skills, self-confidence, and social development. Our programs promote teamwork, public speaking, and other life skills essential for job readiness.
Media Literacy
Today’s Digital Citizens™ helps children develop skills to manage their use of screen devices, as they learn to implement media literacy, privacy and reputation, online security safety, cyber bullying and mental well-being. By teaching youth creative uses of screen technologies and, at the same time, encouraging parents to become media mentors, Today’s Digital Citizens™ improves how screen technologies impact children and families.
Artificial Intelligence
Lights, Camera, Action, AI™ is a new, direct service S.T.E.A.M program that helps students build their AI literacy and interpersonal communication skills as they become proficient in learning ways to use generative AI while being safe online.
Life Purpose
Life’s Purpose™ is a youth enrichment program with a focus on social and emotional learning. Through group discussions, mentoring, self-exploration, and collaboration with peers and adults, students determine their purpose and mission in life.
Our unique approach combining media literacy with media production empowers youth to share their voices and form stronger, face-to-face connections with others. In addition to inspiring positive change in their communities, these opportunities to discover and share their voice have changed the lives of today’s youth.
