Lights, Camera, Action, AI™ is an innovative, direct service S.T.E.A.M program that helps students build their AI literacy and interpersonal communication skills as they become proficient in learning ways to use generative AI while being safe online. Our program promotes wellbeing and life skills as students practice and become proficient with the skills of emotional management, empathy, teamwork, responsibility, problem solving, and taking initiative.
Youth Speak Out International is flipping the narrative on generative AI—artificial intelligence capable of creating text, images, videos, and other data—by having students learn how to use this technology in safe and constructive ways. In this hands-on S.T.E.A.M program, students will analyze how AI technology impacts their digital lives in everything from online social presence to media messaging, giving them a space to have impactful face-to-face conversations with their peers and instructors. At the same time, they will use AI film production equipment to create their short social media style stories using AI-assisted script writing/voice narration, photo editing and video editing software. The six-week program culminates in a Lights, Camera, Action, AI video screening, where students will present their AI-assisted videos and explain how they blended using generative AI with in-person teamwork to understand the impact of AI on today’s digital world.
To help create AI literate families, students and their family members can review and sign the AI Family Agreements below. You will find version of this agreement in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.

“The title of your program says it all, Lights, Camera, Action, AI. Our students thought they knew everything about AI until they started working with your staff. One of our students told me she taught her grandmother how to spot deep fake photos and videos. As a parent and after school director, I hope you continue offering this much needed program to other students and families. ” After School Director, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
“I liked using AI video cameras and learning the right ways how to have AI help our team write a script. The best part was we learned how to edit our videos using an AI video editor. I’m ready to teach my brother and sister everything we learned about using AI the right way. We loved Lights, Camera, Action, AI and can’t wait to learn more next school year. “ Elementary School Student (5th Grade), Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
