Life’s Purpose Youth Empowerment Program

September 17th-27th, 2019 Youth Speak Out International expanded its Life’s Purpose™ Youth Empowerment Program into The Department of Juvenile Justice, Palm Beach County Detention Center. Life’s Purpose™ is a social and emotional youth enrichment program. Through group discussions, mentoring, self-exploration, and collaboration with peers and adults, students created their purpose / mission and life goals. This 16-hour Life Enrichment Experience is designed to motivate and inspire youth by activating voice. Our culturally relevant and engagement approach utilizes Rap music as a conduit to meet youth where they are. Through listening and deciphering the music lyrics we foster critical thinking, awareness, reflection, problem solving and improve decision making skills. Youth exited the program with a defined purpose, mission statement and establish goals for their lives.

Youth Speak Out International is thankful for the opportunity to bring our Life’s Purpose™ Program to the youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice Palm Beach Detention Center.  We applaud the collaborative partnership, vision and passion of the staff at Prime Time Palm Beach County and The Department of Juvenile Justice, Palm Beach County for seeking innovative approaches to positively impact the lives of youth by equipping them with the tools needed to make better decision that support a brighter future.
